Observing Ms. Douglas 5th graders classes: Math1 and Math2

At the beginning of the class, Ms Douglas showing a video that made by them. Interviewer/interviewee, cameraman, MC, weather forecast-> role-play script (do the exact what the video shown)

Using clickers to review the math progress check.

Shaking hand and say good morning

Showing things: a gift from and for

Fact/fiction: 2 truths and a lie

Telling about you that you want others wanna know about you.

Introduce myself

Smart board use in class: touch screen and documenting the writing on the board.

Active students: gave them chance to raise hand

Checking their math work and work with the problem (how to solve) notes and charts.

Using clickers

Tell them this is the first time might be technical difficulty.

Talk about the clickers (introduce)

Expectations what are the suppose they to before can still change until the polling is closed

To know where you at, engage & interactive -> tell the reasons why

Clicker expectations: (no timer)

Take care, use as a tool, follow our class rules, what are the penalties, answer to best of your ability, be patient, more tolerate, cooperate.

Tell them how to activate the clickers, distribute the clickers, polls open and close

Sometimes they have to click together to make sure everyone has clicked it.
